Piano Tuning means tightening or loosening the strings for each note to achieve a the best musical sound. Most pianos have about 220 strings total.

Pitch Correction

Most often, this will be raising the pitch of a piano that has not been tuned for a long time. After a time, the pitch of the notes of the piano goes too low to be able to tune it at the same time as pulling it up. This is a little like a pre-tuning.
